Content :

 

To pollute means to defile or to make unfit for human and animal use .

Anything that contaminates air and make it unfit for use is an example of air pollutant.

 

Examples of Air Pollutants are

  1. smoke from bush burning
  2. smoke from cigarette
  3. Fumes from poisonous  gas
  4. Tear gas
  5.  gas or odour from urine
  6. human waste  smelling
  7. Smoke from the incinerator
  8. coughing
  9. generator smoke
  10. Mouth odour

 

 

Effects of Air Pollution

  1. Difficulty in breathing
  2. lungs diaereses
  3. Eyes problems
  4. Headache
  5. Skin rashes
  6. Atmosphere degradation
  7. Cough

Controls of Air Pollution

  1. Proper disposal of waste
  2. bush burning should be discouraged.
  3. Adequate and proper ventilation of building should be encouraged when building  houses
  4. Recycling as a method of waste disposal should be encouraged.
  5. Pupils must be taught toilet hygiene and proper use of the rest room
