The pupils have previous knowledge of solid measure

 

 

Behavioural Objectives :  At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

  • Define time
  • mention devices that are used to measure time
  • say the time correctly
  • convert from one unit of time measure to another unit of time measure

 

 

Content :

Time is the period or duration of an event. it is used to say how long an event is . The basic unit of measuring time is Second .Other units of time measure is as follow

 

The Time Measure Table

  • 60 seconds make one minute
  • 60 minutes make one hour
  • 24 Hours make one day
  • 7 days make one week
  • 4 weeks make one month
  • 12 months make one year
  • 365 days make one year
  • 366 days make one leap year

 

 

Thirty days has September

April , June and November,

All the rest are 31 except February alone ,

Which has 28 day and 29 days in each leap year

Convert From One Unit Of Time Measure To Another Unit 

  1. Convert 2 minutes to seconds  solution ( 2 x 60 sec ) = 120 seconds
  2. Change 5 hours to minutes       solution ( 5 x 60 min ) = 300 minutes
  3. How many hours make 1 day    solution  (1 x 24 hours ) = 24 hours

 

Presentation

The class teacher allows the pupils to give their own examples and he corrects them when the needs arise

Conclusion :
