Clothing refers to all kinds of materials for covering the body.It is one of the three most important needs of every human being.
Clothing is important to every human being because it protects the body against dirt and germs.
It makes the body warm and gives it beauty. People need to dress well in order to look respectable.
Choice of clothing depends on the activities that one engages in. A secretary or manager dresses in style for attractiveness, while a teacher wears a dress that is smart and modest.
It is important to wear the right clothing suitable for each occasion.
Clothing need to be properly cared for. This will preserve them and make them last longer. Good care of clothing also ensures that less money is spent to replace them often.
Reasons for wearing clothes
(1)Clothes are worn to protect the body from the dangers of the weather such as strong sunshine, rain,wind,and extreme heat or cold which can be very harsh on the skin.
(2)Clothes enhance our safety during our daily activities.
(3)Clothes act as a barrier against unhygienic conditions by keeping bacteria from the body. They also reduce the transfer of bacteria from one person to the other.
(4) Clothes are worn as adornment to make us look beautiful.
(5)Clothes help us to promote our culture and Status in society.
(6)Clothes identify the types of job people do. The nurses, the police, firefighters and sportsmen and sportswomen.
