Content

Energy is the strength 💪, power ⛮ or ability to do work

For us to carry out our day to day activities, we need strength, power or energy

Most electrical gadgets in our various homes need power to function

Energy conversion is also known as energy transformation. It is the process of changing energy from one type of energy to another.

Forms of Energy

  1. Electrical energy
  2. Solar energy
  3. Heat energy
  4. Wind Energy
  5. Mechanical Energy
  6. Chemical Energy

Important of Energy

  1. Heat energy is used up as fire to cook most of our food
  2. Mechanical energy is generated by rubbing two stones together to produce fire
  3. When we plug in our electric iron to press our clothes, we are using heat energy
  4. Heat energy is used to dry up our clothes
  5. Electric energy is used as electric energy when we use electricity to pump water into our tank reservoir

FORMS OF ENERGY CONVERSION

1. Mechanical energy can be transformed to heat energy.

2. Electrical energy can be transformed to mechanical energy. For example, blender, electric cooker etc.

3. Electrical energy can be transformed to heat energy. For example, pressing iron, electric stove etc

4. Mechanical energy can be transformed to electrical energy.

5. Chemical energy can be transformed to heat energy. For example, kerosene stove.

6. Solar energy can be transformed to heat energy, chemical energy and electrical energy.

7. light energy can be transformed to heat energy.

IMPORTANCE OF ENERGY CONVERSION

1. It saves money

2. It reduces pollution

3. It saves energy

4. It generates energy

5. It replaces non renewable energy.

Presentation

Step 1 : The teacher revises the previous topics with the pupils

Step :  He introduces the new topic

Step 3: He allows the pupils to give their own contribution

Evaluation

  • What is energy
  • Mention four forms of Energy
  • Explain the meaning of energy conversion
  • Name forms of energy conversion
  • State the importance energy conversion
  • define energy conversion
  • list three forms of energy conversion
  • state 5 importance of energy conversion.

Conclusion : Ha gives a brief note and he goes round to mark

Assignment : Read about Heat and Temperature
