Tenses of Verb Continuous Tense


Continuous Tense Continuous Tense is used to express action that is going on during the period of time. Continuous tense may be either in present tense or past tense Present Continuous tense is used to express what we are doing now. 1. We are singing now
2. He is singing now.
3.They are drinking tea and coffee now Past tense is used to express actions that were going on during the period in question.
It is used to express what was going on then. Examples are 1. We were singing then.
2. He was singing then.
3. They were drinking tea and coffee when it started to rain.
